Details and Analysis

Each Thursday for the past few weeks, Ebates has been running a “Travel Thursday” promotion with increased cash-back earning rates on certain travel providers.  Today’s “Travel Thursday” includes a valuable bonus rate to earn 10% cash back on reservations made at IHG family hotels.  [Unfortunately, unlike the last 2 weeks, Marriott properties are not included this week.]

Reservations must be made today; however the stay can be in the future.  Of course, to take advantage of this deal, you must go to the Ebates website, log in, click through from Ebates to the website of the specific hotel brand where you’d like to stay, and complete your reservation according to Ebates’ terms.

We have listed the applicable IHG brands above.

The terms and conditions of this offer state that Ebates Cash Back “is only available for commissionable IHG rates. Specially negotiated rates such as IHG friends & Family are not eligible for cash back.”  Consistent with these terms, in our experience, corporate rates do not qualify.  We believe that AAA rates are commissionable and thus would qualify for Ebates Cash Back, although we do not have a direct data point on this.

Terms and conditions listed on the Ebates website are as follows:

Note that this cash-back promotion is particularly valuable because it stacks with your usual IHG points-earning and elite status benefits.  And, in addition to your regular points earning, IHG has an ongoing “Double Points Plus More” promotion.  You should be able to stack your cash back with bonus points earning from Double Points Plus More.

If you have any upcoming IHG stays, today is a great day to make your reservations, through Ebates!
