This is a quick post to remind you that Choice Privileges points go on sale today (Wed 5/15/2019) at Daily Getaways 2019. In our view, this is one of the best deals of the entire Daily Getaways sale. We’ve purchased Choice Privileges points during Daily Getaways in each of the last 2 years, and we’ll try to do so again today (subject to the very inconvenient fact that we’ll be on a plane at the time of the sale).
As a reminder, the Choice Privileges points packages available for sale today are:
- 14,000 Choice Privileges points for $80 (0.57 cpp)
- 28,000 Choice Privileges points for $144 (0.51 cpp)
- 42,000 Choice Privileges points for $205 (0.49 cpp)
- 55,000 Choice Privileges points for $265 (0.48 cpp)
The maximum quantity you can purchase is 2 of each package. There are more than 1,000 of each points package available for sale on Daily Getaways 2019.
The sale opens today at Noon Central time. If you’re interested in purchasing, you should plan to be ready right when the points go on sale, as we believe these packages are likely to sell out quickly.

Also, earlier this week, we published an extensive guide to the Choice Privileges program and uses of Choice points. The guide includes some pointers to sweet-spot redemptions in the program, where you can get far more value than the roughly 0.5 cents per point you’ll be paying for Choice points in the Daily Getaways 2019 sale:
- Middle Age Miles: Choice Privileges – 17 Good Facts and Tips to Know
As we mentioned at the top, we believe this is a good deal, and one of the rare opportunities to purchase points and miles, even speculatively if you think your travel plans will at some point lead you to one of the sweet-spot redemptions. As far as we know, Daily Getaways has provided the lowest price at which you’ve historically been able to purchase Choice points.
We give Choice points a baseline value of 0.5 cents per point, and the sale prices are about the same. For us, our best guess is that we’ll be able to get far more value than that when we redeem the points. For instance, it’s likely that we’ll travel to Scandinavia sometime in the relatively near future, and we’d love to use Choice points to stay at great-looking properties like the Skt Petri Hotel in Copenhagen or The Thief in Oslo. Or, if booking hotels through the Choice partnership with Preferred Hotels & Resorts gets fixed, we have our eyes on a few aspirational Preferred Hotels where we could use Choice points for good value.
What Credit Card Should I Use?
Daily Getaways deals code as Travel – Travel Agencies, so you’ll want to pay with a credit card that earns bonus points on general travel purchases. We recommend using one of these cards to maximize your points-earning:
- Chase Sapphire Reserve – 3x Ultimate Rewards (UR) as Travel
- Chase Ink Preferred – 3x UR as Travel
- Citi Premier – 3x ThankYou Points (TYPs) as Travel
- Citi AT&T Access More – 3x TYPs as Online Travel/Retail
Good luck if you’re trying to buy Choice Privileges points in the sale today!
