This is just a quick article to give you a heads up that we got a small unexpected bonus from Marriott Bonvoy yesterday for our “Member-versary.”
Yesterday, we received an email from Bonvoy. It came from a strange address, firstname.lastname@example.org, so we were initially suspicious of it. It turned out, though, that the email contained good news. Apparently, it was our membership anniversary date with the Bonvoy program (presumably, the date we originally signed up for Marriott Rewards many years ago?), and Marriott kindly gifted us 500 points for our anniversary.
And indeed, the points showed up in our Marriott Bonvoy account yesterday:
It’s not huge – at our baseline value of 0.7 cents per Marriott point, the 500-point gift is worth about $2.80. And over the past year-plus, Marriott has served us up plenty of devaluations and heartache. But that said, the gesture is appreciated.
We wanted to post a short article on this in hopes that other readers receive a “Member-versary” bonus from Marriott Bonvoy as well. Our email specifically referenced our Titanium elite status, so perhaps only elite members (or elite members at or above a certain level) receive the gift.
