Trip Report – Dec 2016 Geneva (coming soon)

At the famed “Broken Chair” statue outside the United Nations, Geneva

In early December 2016, Philly and I took the first trip of what we hope will become an annual tradition of traveling to Europe around Thanksgiving or shortly thereafter, visiting Geneva.  Truly by luck, we found ourselves in Geneva for its annual Escalade festival, which infused our trip with a bit of extra local flavor, including the Course de l’Escalade running race.

We also explored the area around Geneva in three separate day trips, visiting the famous ski resort town of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, France; Huez, France, which is at the top of the legendary Tour de France climb of Alpe d’Huez; and Montreux, Switzerland, located at the other end of Lake Geneva.
